Effective nuclear disarmament verification is composed of four different but interrelated elements: processes, procedures, techniques, and technologies, which act in tandem to provide effective verification of compliance. This report focuses on the “technologies” element when verifying the absence of nuclear warheads. It describes different technologies that could be used to confirm the absence of nuclear warheads and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each.
